Yellow Fever (including certificate)
Yellow Fever is a serious viral disease transmitted by infected mosquitoes in tropical regions. It can lead to severe illness and even death if untreated. Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent Yellow Fever, and many countries require proof of vaccination for entry.
Countries at Risk
Yellow Fever is endemic in tropical areas of:
Sub-Saharan Africa
South America
Travelers visiting these regions, especially rural or jungle areas, are at the highest risk. Some countries require a valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate for entry, even if the risk of exposure is low.
Travel Precautions
To minimize the risk of Yellow Fever:
Get vaccinated at least 10 days before traveling to high-risk areas.
Use mosquito repellent containing DEET.
Wear long-sleeved clothing and trousers.
